Hey everyone, CLE Picks back here with this weeks edition of “CLE's Totals.” Last week it took a little time, but we cashed the over on Colorado's team total of 41.5 to bring us to 2-2 on the season on this article. This week, we head to the other “Death Valley” in Clemson, South Carolina for a huge early-season ACC clash with Florida State and Clemson.
Clemson comes into this one 25th or unranked, depending on what poll you look at, with a 2-1 record. The defending ACC Champions are coming off a 48-14 win over FAU last Saturday night, a game in which sophomore quarterback Cade Klubnick threw for 3 touchdowns. Florida State is coming off a nail biting 31- 29 win over Boston College. They are ranked #4 in the AP Poll and #3 in the Coaches poll. They are led by Heisman Trophy candidate Jordan Travis, who has thrown for almost 800 yards and 8 touchdowns this season.
CAN CLEMSON, FSU PRODUCE AN OVER?
My feeling is that we get an offensive shootout in this one. The last 5 meetings between these 2 teams averaged 59 points with 4 of the 5 going over this number. Clemson's three games this season have averaged 60 points, while Florida State's games have averaged 69.3 points. I see all those trends continuing with both quarterbacks having big games as well.
