We are back with a special Thanksgiving Day version of CLEs Totals. We are coming off a disappointing non cash as the Cowboys vs. Vikings game couldn’t go over on Sunday despite Dallas scoring 40 points (Thanks for nothing Kirk). On Thursday we are heading down to Dallas for a key NFC East battle between the Cowboys and Giants.
The Cowboys come into this one 7-3 on the season, tied for 2nd in the AFC East following a 40-3 beatdown of the Vikings where they sacked Kirk Cousins seven times. If the playoffs started today the Cowboys would be your 5 seed in the NFC. The Giants head down to Dallas with a 7-3 record as well. They are tied with the Cowboys for 2nd in the NFC East following a disappointing 31-18 loss to the Lions. If the playoffs started today they would be your 6 seed in the NFC.
If it isn’t broke why try to fix it, and in terms of gambling terms why bet against it. For me, that’s the Dallas Cowboys offense the last four weeks. Since Dak's return four weeks ago, the Cowboys are averaging 39.25 points per game. In their last two home matchups with the Giants, they are averaging 40.5 points as well. While the Giants defense has been strong this year, we have seen some slight regression the last few weeks with them giving up 27 or more in two of the last three games. Keep in mind the Cowboys already scored 23 points on the Giants with Cooper Rush at quarterback. Look for this trend to continue Thursday afternoon.
