We are back with another College Football edition of CLE's Totals. Last week, we cashed the over in the Alabama/LSU game which brings our season record on college plays to 3-1. Let's keep it rolling this week as we head to the ACC for a team total play in the UNC/Wake Forest game.
UNC travels to Winston Salem to take on divisional rivals, Wake Forest. UNC, winners of five straight, comes into this one red hot with a record of 8-1. With a perfect 5-0 record in conference, they currently sit in first place in the ACC Coastal division and our ranked 15th in the latest college football playoff rankings. Wake Forest, on the other hand, is 6-3 on the season and riding a two game losing streak. They are currently sitting in 6th place in the ACC Atlantic division after a disappointing loss to NC State last week.
North Carolina's offense is elite. Led by Heisman candidate quarterback, Drake Maye, UNC ranks 8th in the nation in yards per game with an average of 496.8 yards. They rank 9th in the country in points per game with an average of 40.6 points in their nine games. They also have the top passing attack in the ACC with an average of 329.8 passing yards per game this season. Wake Forest will have their hands full as their defense has struggled this season ranking 11th out of 14 teams in yards given up per game with of an average 372.8 yards. They also rank 11th in the ACC in points given up per game, giving up an average of 27.3 points.
I believe UNC's offense is going to be too much for Wake Forest to handle here. As said before, Drake Maye is an elite quarterback and Wake has struggled with lesser QBs and lesser offenses this season. Heck, they let DJ Uiagalelei put up 51 on them earlier this season. UNC's offense has excelled on the road averaging 38.8 points in their five away games, and I see them getting over this average Saturday Night. Keep in mind, UNC has gone over 50 points in three of the last four games vs Wake. Let’s make it three straight cashes and get to 4-1 with a UNC TT over ticket Saturday.
