TOP PASS RUSH ADVANTAGES
Titans -19.3 at Chiefs Pass Rush
Commanders -14 vs Vikings Pass Rush
Jets -9.3 vs Bills Pass Rush
*Bills LB Matt Milano - Oblique
Tennessee Titans -19.3 AT Kansas City Chiefs
Titans enter the week with the biggest disadvantage at pass blocking according to our NFL Betting/Props Cheat Sheet. The Titans only attempted 10 passes last week with backup quarterback Malik Willis under center. Starter Ryan Tannehill is a game time decision this week according to Mike Vrabel. Tennessee guard Nate Davis grades seventh overall as a pass blocking guard according to PFF and ranks seventh at pass block win rate according to ESPN.
Pro Football Focus grades Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay Jr as the 13th best pass rusher at his position. Defensive Tackle Chris Jones has the #1 pass rush win rate according to ESPN and he also grades as the #1 pass rusher according to PFF. The Chiefs rank as high as eighth by Football Outsiders as a pass rushing unit and as low as 12th by Pro Football Focus.
Washington Commanders -14 vs Minnesota Vikings
Washington has the fourth worst blocking grade on our NFL BETTING/PROPS CHEAT SHEET this week. Ranking no higher than 25th by PFF, the Commanders continue to struggle to block for their quarterback's. Tackle Charles Leno Jr is the lone bright spot on the Commanders offensive line this season. Grading as the fourth overall pass blocking tackles according to PFF. The struggles of Washington's offensive line stem from backup center Tyler Larson not being able to block without help, now Larson is on the injury report with a back issue but will play this week.
Leno and his line-mates will have their work cutout for them this week facing a Vikings defensive line led by edge rushers Za'Darius Smith who grades seventh overall at the edge and Danielle Hunter who grades 29th overall at pass rusher on the other edge per PFF. The Vikings front seven rank seventh at pass rushing according to PFF and sixth by Football Outsiders.
New York Jets -9.3 vs Buffalo Bills
The Bills front seven are stacked with talent. Starting with edge rusher Von Miller who has the seventh highest pass rush win rate percentage in the NFL. The interior pass rush is anchored by Jordan Phillips(28th pass rush grade PFF) and DaQuan Jones(19th pass rush grade PFF). The Bills pass rush win rate as a team is low according to ESPN. At 40% Buffalo ranks 23rd, but Pro Football Focus ranks the Bills front seven as the second best unit.
Buffalo faces a Jets offensive line that many consider as a whole to be backup quality at best. Other than tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker who grades ninth at pass blocking per PFF and ranks fourth at pass block win rate, winning on 95% of pass attempts, the Jets offense is going to be busy trying to play catch up all game with a line that can't block very well and a quarterback that holds onto the ball to long.
TOP PASS BLOCKING ADVANTAGES
Packers Pass Blocking +19.7 at Lions
Ravens Pass Blocking +16.3 at Saints
Chargers Pass Blocking +12 at Falcons
*Ravens LT Ronnie Stanley - Ankle
Green Bay Packers +19.7 at Detroit Lions
With or without starting tackle David Bakhtiari, the Packers have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Green Bay has the second best pass blocking average per our NFL Betting/Props Cheat Sheet. The Packers are led by center Josh Myers who grades fourth at pass blocking at the center position, Zach Tom(Bakhtiari replacement) grades 25th at pass blocking and has held down the fort as Bakhtiari tries to get right this season. Tackle Yosh Nijman has been a surprise success for the Packers this season, with the third highest pass block win rate in the NFL according to ESPN.
With Nijman and either Bakhtiari or Tom as the starting tackles, Green Bay should be able to handle the strength of the Lions front seven. Detroit edge rushers Charles Harris(19th pass rush grade PFF) and Julian Okwara (24th pass rush grade PFF) are the lone bright spots on what has been a disappointing pass rush for the Lions this season.
Baltimore Ravens +16.3 at New Orleans Saints
Baltimore is the highest rated pass blocking team per our NFL Betting/Props Cheat Sheet this week. Ranking second overall by Pro Football Focus and ESPN's pass block win rate. Lead by Morgan Moses(fifth highest pass block win rate for a tackle), Kevin Zeither(third highest grade for a guard per PFF and 10th highest pass block win rate for a guard), and tackle Ronnie Stanley who is still the best pass blocker on the Ravens front line but injuries have keep him from receiving a grade or rank. Stanley was DNP on Thursday but was limited on Friday and should play. The Saints front seven is led by Linebacker Demario Davis who grades second overall in the NFL at pass rusher.
