After seeing the first two games of this NBA Finals series, it’s becoming clear that the Phoenix Suns are just the better team. I don’t believe that they have overwhelming better talent that's that much better than that of the Milwaukee Bucks, but I do believe that they play a smarter and more consistent style of basketball led by Chris Paul and Devin Booker and coached by former player Monty Williams as well.

During this 2021 playoff run, both Booker and Paul have been pretty identical with their impact on the game in terms of both players having a +8.6 net rating. The Suns are also getting great contributions from role players like Cameron Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder, and DeAndre Ayton’s consistent play on both ends of the court is showing that Phoenix has a legit big three with the third-year big man to go along with Book/CP3. With the Suns winning the first two games of this series they’ve also increased their chances of winning the series, simply because teams that have a 2-0 lead have won 80%+ of their series.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did everything he could to try and steal Game 2 with 42 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks, but he didn’t get enough help from his other two best teammates/Bucks players in Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. I do expect both of them to play better in Milwaukee, however, and as great as Phoenix has played at home, I still believe Milwaukee had a chance to steal Game 2 once they cut the lead down to 5 but seemingly weren’t able to come up with some crucial rebounds after they were able to force Phoenix into some missed shots late. In these playoffs the Bucks are 7-1 SU at home compared to just 5-6 SU in the road, so I look for this series to turn out a lot like the Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets series in Round 2 were the home team won every game and the series eventually gets to a Game 7.

All Milwaukee needs to do is defend home court for at least two games technically, and we're not asking for them to rewrite history by becoming the first to come back from 0-3 even if they were to lose Game 3 on Sunday, nor are we asking them to be one of those sub 20% teams who can come back and win a series after falling down 0-2. All we need them to do is play better at home and defend home court to an extend, and with a healthier Giannis Antetokuonpo hitting his stride, we can find value on Suns to win the series in seven games (4 to 3) at +390 on FanDuel rather than guess game to game on who wins along the way.
